Blue unsolvable hardware error screen

when i play BFBC2 i keep getting this blue screen on my new computer. it is more then able to run the game and i updated my computer and graphics card. help?

I would recommend you install 2 softwares:

Speedfan : this utility can be used to monitor your CPU temps
MSI after burner: this can be used to monitor your GPU temps (it also displays your GPU Temp, FPS etc while you play).

First after you install Speedfan. Install Prime95 (this is a CPU torture test) it will heat your CPU up watch your temps rise on speed fan, see if your CPU can stabily handle this for 15mins atleast and what temps you get to, post those results. When you start Prime95 it will ask you a couple of options (basically it will ask you which test to run) take the test which stresses the CPU, then watch the temps rise on speedfan.

If the system passes this test, it means your CPU is fine.

Next its the GPUs turn, load up MSI afterburner. Go into the settings option, then click the monitoring tab, make sure you have selected monitoring of GPU temps.

Now load up any game and play. Make sure to note the temps of the GPU when the game does crash. If the temps are not too high then its probably not to the GPU.

Anyways these are the basic problems to diagnose first before we can procede further. Let us know your results.

i'm running speedfan and prime95 right now but how do i see the GPU temps when the whole computer is the one that crashes during a BSOD?

well keep watching those temps, run prime 95 for about 15mins, see where they get to before the crash happens. Tell us the Temp on core 0 before the crash happens it will give us an inidication if something is wrong with the cpu heat sink or so.

Do you have easy tune 6 installed? if so get rid of it that program was causing my blue screens only in BFBC2, also if you use MSI afterburner try turn that off

mm your temps seem to be in normal ranges, can you try to note the error code that happens with the crash?

also please tell us your specs. Also is it just BC2 that your system is crashing on, or does it crash on about every game?

So far the computer has only crashed on BFBC2 and I have already re installed in attempt to fix the problem. The only other game i have played is Just Cause 2

If it is every game that is crashing then try removing one of the Ram chips. See if the error repeats itself, try doing the same with both the chips.

Edit: have you overclocked the rig at all?

if so try these fixes in the bios:

Disable C3 and C6 states, leave C1 enabled see f this helps

just BFBC2. the GPU did come pre overclocked though.

edit: how do i Disable C3 and C6 states? i don't see it in the bios.

If its just BC2 then i think its not a hardware issue. The GPU is within normal temp ranges, you could try downclocking it a bit to see if that does improve anything.

I dont have a 1155 based system so cant help you with the C3, C6 states (its a tip i read on another forum).

Have you tried reinstalling the game? or reinstalling windows? also did you try running the system on a single ram chip? you could also try putting the GPU in the other PCI-e slot see if that does anything.

you would need to remove 1 of the ram chips, it will slow down the system a bit, but if we get to know there is something wrong with the ram then you may rma the ram.

lol, i just noticed that i have that installed AFTER i reinstalled windows 7. wish i saw it before well i will try getting rid of it.

edit: reinstalling windows and getting rid of easy tune 6 did nothing. will now try the other 2 things.

He never mentioned that he had overclocked the rig, any how the 1155 systems are usually very accurate in adjusting the voltage, its so noob friendly mostly works fine with adjusting the multiplier. Adjusting the Voltage was more of thing with the 1366 or the 1156, this is based on what i have read i could be wrong though i dont own a 1155 system.

i will play for longer to be sure, also i got Ripjaws memory cards.

is your system overclocked, first confirm this. Voltage tweaks are available in the bios, we can tell you how to adjust that first tell us if its oced.

Let us know how the system functions once you play it longer, do switch the ram after a while to see if the ram is faulty.

ok, i'm confused. i tested with only 1 ram card for 2 hours, nothing happened, i tested with the other card for 1 hour, nothing happened. i put them together again for 1 hour, and nothing happened. what the? it stopped? i will try playing again for a little longer but it stopped for no reason. any idea why?

btw: my graphics card came pre overclocked, that's all.

Didn't you mention that your BSOD happen only in BFBC2 ? And not in other games or even when just sitting idle ? And you said that you updated your GPU drivers. Did the BSOD happen after the driver update or was it there even before it was updated ?

i was playing bfbc2, also i updated my graphics card before i played. never tried it without updating first. my computer did need to install 44 updates though through windows update, and i'm not sure if i installed those updates before i played. i do know however that i had them installed before i re installed windows, when it was first happening.

I got the same error code wile playing BC2, my system is not overclocked at all, temps are within viable ranges, windows is updated, Only happens with BC2, havent test the ram but seeing as though it only happens during BC2 i cannot see that being the issue.... im stumped.
