Hi,
My name is Matt and recently I have encountered a problem which has degraded the overall quality of my Blue Yeti after about 3 weeks of using it with no problems.
Let me explain the problem; usually, the microphone is recognised by my computer as "Yeti Stereo Microphone" under Device Manager (Sound, video and game controllers) as well as Recording Devices. However, my computer has recently started recognising the microphone under the name of "USB Advanced Audio Device" and occasionally "USB Audio Device". Ever since the microphone has been recognised as "USB Advanced Audio Device" the sensitivity and volume of the microphone have greatly increased to the point where the microphone is no longer usable to my liking (even though the gain switch on the microphone itself was on '0'). I do not remember changing anything regarding the properties of the microphone before the problem occurred apart from the volume.
What I've tried to resolve the problem;
- Unplug and replug the USB cable of the microphone into my computer.
- Plug the USB cable of the microphone into different USB ports in my computer (including an external USB hub device).
- Uninstall the "USB Advanced Audio Device" drivers from my computer - they were reinstalled when I replugged the microphone back into the computer.
- Use a different USB chord to connect the microphone to the computer.
- Restart PC
-Tried to use the microphone on 3 different PCs but all encountered the same issue (2 Window 7's 64bit, 1 Windows Vista 32bit)
The specifications of the computer I initially used the microphone on with success;
GPU - AMD R9 280x
CPU - Intel i7-4770
OS - Windows 7 64bit
PSU - 750w
HDD - 2TB
MOTHERBOARD - Gigabyte Z87-HD3

-Matt
