i bought my blue yeti in February and it's been wonderful these past 8 or 9 months. Today when I went to use it, to my surprise, it's recordings sound strange. Basically, and this happens even in the normal voice recorder app, it is recording with a sort of echo or reverb effect, like it is in the halls of a great cathedral or in the bowels of a small cave. It's not the space because it's the same space I always record in, and on the same pc I always record with. I have no idea what is going on.

Professor,

Maybe a driver update reset the configuration - however, cannot see reverb being a "default".

Any chance someone had access and set up reverb as a prank?

All connections tight? No rattling pieces inside the microphone....

Can you try the microphone in another laptop or computer? Or try another microphone in the laptop.

Will take some troubleshooting and elimination to determine if hardware (i.e., the microphone), the laptop, or software (audio app & audio drivers) is the culprit.
