Bluescreen 3 times this week

My new computer my friend built for me about 2 months ago has blue screened 3 times this past week with the latest time being this morning, this week is the first time I've had any problems with it. I've done 3 things in the past week to my computer which maybe are causing the problem. They are 1)Install Skyrim, 2) Open case to blow dust out of case 3) Upgrade graphics driver to Catalyst 12.1. Now I'm not real good with computers but I imagine it's number 3 which is maybe causing this to happen. I got a pop up saying and upgrade was available and so I went to the site and updated it. It was a few days later when I first got the blue screen.

I haven't being doing the same thing each time it's crashed, twice I was just browsing the internet and the time today I was downstairs and came back to see my computer restarted, I didn't have any games running or anything, just firefox open. I ran a full scan with MSE and it came back with some Java errors and a Trojan Java error or something like that. I deleted all of them and hoped that would solve the problem but it didn't. I'm scanning my boot drive for errors right now because I saw in another thread someone said to do that. I sent an email to AMD about the Catalyst 12.1 and I'm waiting to see if they have any answers for me.

I saw a post about bluescreenview which apparently tells you more information on what might have caused the blue screen, has anyone used that before and is it useful? I want to find out why this keeps happening, it blue screens and then it seems to work fine again until I shut it down at night. I'll give some info on my computer below.

I have a XFX Radeon HD 5850 1GB video card, AMD Athlon II x4 640 3.0 GHz quad core cpu, Crucial Ballistix 8GB DDR3 RAM and windows 7 64 bit. Let me know if you need any more details and I'll download the blue screen view and post what it says as well as what the boot drive error thing says when it's done scanning.

Ok so the boot drive scan finished when I was away from my computer and I came back and it just had my login screen up so I guess there were no errors with that.

BlueScreenView says it was caused by driver Wdf01000.sys and I have no clue what that means and the crash address is ntoskrnl.exe+7cc40 and I don't know that that means either. Does this information help at all?

well figuring out the error message would be first step to figuring out the problem. if windows restarts too quickly for you to see error message do this

I did that so now I guess I'll just wait for the next blue screen to happen.

Also, if you feel up to it, make sure windows is set to create minidumps when it crashes so that myself or other people can view the log. I'm at work right now so i can't really do much, but if you get an error, try to upload the crash dump and ill check it out when i get home and see if i can't give you any info

first redo virus test in safe mode without network connected do a full scan also use malwarebytes free http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free when everything is clean go to microsoft update for system scan on missing driver

I googled the Wdf01000.sys and got a website that mentioned it was a windows update driver and I did have some windows updates to make, they were Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2505438), Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (KB2467173), Microsoft Office File Validation Add-in, Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 3 (SP3), and Definition Update for Microsoft Security Essentials - KB2310138 (Definition 1.119.1882.0).

I don't know if those updates matter or will help anyone but I figured it's worth a shot.

I have a screen shot of the crash list or dump file from BlueScreenView but I don't know how to attach it here. All i find is inserting an image with a url but mine is saved in my desktop so if someone can help me with that I can attach it and see if it helps out.

Do you mean I have to update a driver or when I did windows update it updated the driver? What do you mean a complete clean up as previous mark? I don't know what you're asking me about. I tried to update to the Catalyst 12.1 and I did a windows update is that what you are talking about? Sorry if I'm being dumb but I don't understand.

well if you made all windows update and the graphic driver is 12.1 then there should not be bsod and everything work fine,but if you still got some try to get the code for them so we could repair the issue ( for the clean up means virus test in safe mode with malwarebytes without network connect to the net on full scan for cleaning thatfrom system and all restore point (Trojan Java error)

Ok, I haven't gotten another bsod yet and I'll run the malwarebytes in safe mode, I ran one of that and MSE in regular mode and didn't find any errors or anything. Hopefully updating windows solved the problem.

I ran MSE and malwarebytes full scans in safe mode and didn't have any errors. If I get another bsod I'll post the details it says. Thanks for your help you guys.

Well I had another bdos this morning, I had another windows update to install it was:
Update for Office File Validation 2010 (KB2553065), 32-bit Edition

I tried to update it earlier for about 10 minutes and it kept saying creating restore point and getting ready to install or something but it never did anything so I cancelled it and tried again.

Here is a screenshot of the BlueScreenView, it's still the same files that seem to be the problem, anyone know what to do to fix it? I already ran full virus scans and found nothing and I don't know why windows won't update anymore, this is really annoying.

I ran the memory diagnostic from win 7 with both sticks in and it found no errors, do I need to do it again with only one stick in? It made 2 passes which I think means it scanned 1 stick and then the other one.

No I didn't remove the old driver, I just got a pop up saying there was a driver update so I did that. I'm a little nervous about uninstalling drivers because I don't want to screw anything up but I'll look into doing it the right way so I don't mess something up.

unistall them you wont loose anything that could fix the bsod and reinstall the 12.1(i f i give you bad advice that could harm your computer would be ban from forum )

So this morning I tried to turn my computer on and windows wouldn't open on the first couple of tries. It just sat there saying starting windows and then nothing happened and I had to manually shut off and turn back on my computer. Now on the 3rd try it started up fine and everything seems fine. This seems like it's something wrong with windows not just a graphics driver? I don't know what to do but it seems like a more serious problem.

I did another windows update and had to restart my computer and when I went to restart it, it said shutting down for a good 10mins or so before a bsod showed up but this time it said DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE which is new.

Also now when I check my headphone volume it says The Audio Service is not running. So do you guys still think it's a graphics driver or maybe it's an audio driver instead. I'll link the blue screen view of this new bsod.

I know people have mentioned the mini dump file, is that the same file as the blue screen view or is it something different. If it's different how do I find it and upload it?

Even though it says the audio service is not running I still get sound out of my headphones.
