Bluescreen error 0x0000007e while trying to restore laptop to factory settings

Hey, I have a K55vd asus laptop with windows 7 home premium 64bits that came with it. I tried restoring the laptop to factory settings via F9 but during the windows installation, i got the bluescreen with the error STOP 0x00000007e. Now everytime i start the computer it says that the windows installation stop abnormally and needs to restart to finish the installation. But, after restarting i get the same message again. I then tried to set up a clean windows 7 installation by putting the windows 7 iso on a bootable usb but i got the same blue screen again.

It could be a dodgy hard drive getting near to failure so back up your data and test it with the manufacturer's diagnostic software using a bootable CD or pen drive.

The asus diagnostic tool doesnt work without windows installed so i cant use that

I mean use the drive manufacturer's diagnostic software. You cannot test the system hard drive properly with Windows software anyway. Post the make of your hard drive if you need more help.
