Hello all - ive been struggling to factory reset my pc for awhile. Ive tried all the common routes, ive gone through the windows tool, booted in safe mode etc. Always throws an error. i had resigned to just leave it be as i was going to reset it to sell, so i just decided not to sell it. however, its now giving me the blue screen and i cannot make any headway getting past it. my question is, is there a way to force wipe the computer while its blue screened?

The blue screen reset process also is throwing an error. A thought i had was to boot to a usb with a windows install media, however i downloaded the windows 11 install media and that gave me another error about system requirements, which sounds like a can of worms i dont want to open right now so im going to try again with windows 10 install media soon. i dont care about any files on the pc, so worst case i just toss the drives and buy new ones 🤔. if anyone knows a way to nuke the drives from blue screen any advice is appreciated

You are having a very specific problem and not giving much details. "I get blue screens and errors" is not enough. What are the errors? When do the blue screens happen exactly? Are you able to boot to Windows or do you systematically get the blue screen even before reaching the login screen?

And we need to know more about your computer. Is it a laptop or a desktop? How old is it? What are the specs?

If the computer is very old you won't be able to install Windows 11. If it keeps crashing while loading Windows it's likely a drive problem. You can try a fresh install of Windows 10 and if it doesn't work then you might need to replace the drive.

Can you boot the Windows installation media? Is the PC stable running the installation system (it's a Windows RE system).

If it's not stable running the Windows installation system then you have a hardware problem. TBH from what you're describing a hardware problem sounds the most likely.
