I'm hoping anyone has any knowledge of Bluetooth devices being able to wake a sleeping windows PC. I currently have a Windows 8 HTPC Desktop setup, and I often put my PC to sleep instead of completely shutting it down. I have checked most settings in Device manager under power management tab for the devices, and made sure the "allow this device to wake up the computer" is checked. I have a Bluetooth remote, Bluetooth keyboard, etc. and none are able to wake up the PC when it is in sleep mode. I believe bios settings are set up properly to allow resume from pretty much any device (all device options are enabled). I also have a Logitech keyboard with a Logitech unifying receiver. For some reason this allows the device to wake, but again, no Bluetooth devices. What gives? 🙁
For reference I have two Bluetooth adapters and neither work to wake up the machine. they are both USB Bluetooth. I also have a MacBook, which when pairing my same devices through Bluetooth on there, wake the sleeping laptop through Bluetooth within OSX, but on the same laptop, in windows 7, even with the settings to allow wake, I cannot get the MacBook to wake my windows 7. It seems to be an issue with windows, I guess. :-\ boo. lol.
Also, I make my PC go to sleep in S3 mode, which allows for a deeper sleep state, but I have tried allowing only S1, and I still cannot get my Bluetooth devices to wake the PC. 🙁 I hope there is some sort of work around for this, as since this is a HTPC, the Bluetooth remote is the main reason why I would like to wake my PC. Thanks
