Bluetooth Headphones deformed by themself

To me the damage/deformation appears to be heat related.

Was that shelf directly in the sun? Or exposed to some other heat source? Heater, other electronic devices, even a desk lamp.

Could someone else have taken or used the headphones? Then put them back?

Your right it was next to a decorative desk lamp which my friend turned on and left it on for approx 30 mins before I turned it off

However, I didn't see the damage until I went to pick them because the broken part was facing sideways towards the lamp and I am the only one who uses the headphones suggesting it's not someone else's fault

Turn on the decorative desk lamp and hold your hand where the headphones were left.

See how long it takes for your hand to feel the heat and how intense the heat may get....

Do not burn yourself.

Yes the damage is on the battery side and I'm not sure what battery type it uses
