here is what I found.

Blu-ray support is not achieved by drivers.... it is supported by Blu-Ray compatible software. You will have to get one of the newer burning softwares like Nero or Roxio. I'm using the latest version of Nero and it has support for Blu-Ray built in.

The Microsoft drivers are the only drivers available for optical drives. Microsoft built-in native drivers with the OS and that's all that's required other than the burning software.

i have an old pc game in the disc drive. it was opening before i changed the firmware, but not reading. afterwards it notated the bd to cd/dvd. now the drive will not open. i did not save the previous firmware beforehand
