Hey dudes, im having a problem that im hoping that you can help me with. I used to use a 32" sony bravia tv as my main pc monitor, but my girlfriend got sick of me using the main tv for my computer and wanted to watch tv. So i went out and got a 22" technika 1080p monitor to use. This is where to problems started. It is a full HD 1080p 60hz tv, however the quality is terrible, i can barely read any of the text on my computer. i have gone through all the tv settings, and the settings in nvidia control panel, even calibrated the text (the quick brown fox blah blah blah) but its still awful. The text isnt the only bad thing, the actual look of the monitor is "fuzzy" for want of a better word. Also, when i set the tv to 60hz the screen seems to flicker :/

So the question i would like an answer to is, are all 1080p resolutions equal, or are some sharper than others? the reason i asked is because on my sony tv the picture was crystal clear, but on a small tv, (which through common sense, should be sharper due to a higher density of pixels) it is fuzzy.

thanks guys and i hope to hear from you all soon.

Solution
No Worries. My TV is a good 8 years old so it must be just old not working with new. I also had a lot of problems with mine too. HDMI was hopeless so switched to VGA but using that it wont display 1280x720 (not a valid res for the screen; odd). Can guess the resolution that windows chose first use on install... 1280x720!

I had to use another screen to boot change the display settings and add a custom resolution of 1680x1050 for the TV then spend an hour trying to change the res while staring at a black screen. Thank god I had a G110 keyboard so I could record a macro using one screen then run that with the TV.
I use an old samsung 23" TV and had the same problem, except mine is only 1080i. If your using HDMI try 720p because that was clear as day. If its still fuzzy then it must be a bad TV I guess.

I ended up using the VGA port on it instead, it only goes up to 1680x1050 but its clear. Give the VGA/DVI port a go.

Hey buddy, thank you for your quick reply. i just tried 1280x720, its WAY worse i may have to try the dvi, i use headphones constantly, so i dont even need the sound. Im guessing its the tv, i got it about 6 years ago haha so that might be the problem.

Hey buddy, i just thought that id let you know that the blurry screen is now fixed. A new driver came out from nvidia, and it fixed my blurry screen, i must not have installed the latest driver, and this one bumped me up. thank you for your help though buddy.
