Blurry white area on LCD monitor

I think this is what is called a compression problem between the LCD layers. When you press on it it goes away but comes back. Does anyone know how to fix this or is a new LCD the only way?

You could buy a new LCD screen but that would be pretty much the same as buying a new monitor.

It might go away after you have installed the video card drivers but it looks like some sort of issue with the LCD particles, they could be "fried" or "spent"...

Its a bad panel. If you're still within warranty, almost all will cover this type of defect. It doesn't look like it's been physically damaged either. If warranty is not an option, replacing the LCD panel would be the only way.
