What would make an old motherboard suddenly only see 64M RAM per slot? I have an old MSI G41M-P33 board that was working fine when I took it out of a build and stored it away in its antistatic sleeve and back in its box several months ago. I dug it out recently to test some LGA 775 CPUs and the board now only shows 64 MB per DIMM slot. I did the usual restting of the BIOS, but to no affect.

I used new, tested memory (Gskill DDR3 1600MHZ). Everything else works on the board. http://www.msi.com/product/mb/G41MP33.html#hero-overview

The only FSB to DRAM ratio that works is AUTO. Any manual change and I cannot reboot to BIOS, nor even get a display. I have to do the CMOS reset to get back to a display again. At that time I get a single beep and boot to BIOS where the system memory is shown as 64MB with a single stick and 128MB with two sticks.
