Hey there, have a new 12700k with Asus Tuf Z690 D4 wifi, Corsair Vengence RGB 3600, Win 10 64bit.

Just built the system and noticed there's no logo / BIOS screen on bootup - it is bypassed and goes straight to Windows desktop.

If I try to access bios (del, f2, etc) the screen goes dark as if it wants to access bios, but nothing further happens.

I then clear CMOS by taking out the mobo battery for 5 min. After doing this i see this screen: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/780154024087126016/1051365918724337746/20221210_235212.jpg . I can make changes in bios (including turning off fast boot) but any subsequent system restarts revert to the system fast booting and no bios changes sticking.

Ive also updated the BIOS and also replaced the mobo battery with a brand new one, but no difference.

Thanks for the help!

You need to spam the BIOS button when you restart to get there. The BIOS screen is likely flashing while the monitor is off or detecting that the computer restarted. Try spamming the delete key as soon as you start a restart until you either get into BIOS or you end up on the WinXX login screen.

Look through the bios for a fast boot option.....turn it off.

Sorry, Ill clarify: I meant that any changes I make in BIOS, fast boot getting turned off being one of them, are forgotten about when I restart the computer.

Like so: I clear the CMOS, start the comp, I get the screen you see in the link, go to bios and make my changes, go to windows desktop, restart the comp after say playing some games, and all the bios settings have reverted. The comp is fast booting again, xmp off etc.

I wasnt the most comprehensive with this post, sorry about that. Currently, any bios keys (del, f2, etc) just give me a blank screen. If i clear cmos first, im able to access bios (albeit through the odd screen in my first post) ill then make all the adjustments in bios (fast boot off, xmp on, etc). However, if I restart the comp again, none of the changes seem to be remembered; Im back to the comp fast booting.

Ive even put in a brand new battery.

WAG.

Look on the mobo for bios clear pins.
Make sure there is not a jumper on those pins.
