Hi everyone,

My gaming rig suddenly decided that it was going to stop booting last night, I will try to give as much information as possible but please let me know if I can provide anything else.

My system consists of the following:
Win 10 64-bit OS installed to SSD drive (with 3TB secondary drive)
i7-4771 CPU
16GB ram
Nvidia 780Ti GPU
ASRock Motherboard
(Can find models for each if required)

My system has no additional installed software outside of steam and skype, and is only used to connect to steam for gaming (no web browser has ever been used on this PC).
I returned home from work and booted the PC, it was left idle while I went to take a shower. When I returned, there was a blue screen with a sad face emoticon and a message saying "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED" - I waited while it rebooted itself as the message said information was being collected.

The issue was then that every time I tried to boot, I got a message saying that I needed to insert valid boot process and that BOOTMGR was missing. I tried booting from my Win7 DVD but that just repeated the message.

I left it overnight and this morning it booted in to windows without any issues at all. However, now my PC will not power down when I shut down - windows logs out and the screen goes black, but my actual system is still powered. I am only able to shut down fully by holding the power button for a few seconds.

All of the drivers are up to date, so if anyone can help you will be my hero - I have absolutely no idea what to do here.

Try letting it sit for a while as Windows does a lot of jockeying around under the hood. Power your machine down completely. Turn off the power supply and then hold down the turn on button as this will drain all the caps. in there. Make sure you are shutting down your machine in the right order.
