Upon startup my computer said there was a problem with windows but it couldnt fix the problem and couldnt restore from any system restore point, after doing a fresh reinstall of windows the computer was behaving untill it updated the same day and then restarted at which point it again said there was a problem with windows, the boot keeps cycling and refusing to start properly but i managed to get it into safe mode eventually where it was 'reverting windows updates' and then restarted and has now managed to boot normally but it is still 'reverting changes' any other checks i can make to prevent my computer failing to boot again and again.

Thanks in advance

this probably has not effect on your issue but if you feel comfortable from the command prompt window type:
chkdsk.exe /f

it will say that it needs to lock the drive and cannot perform while windows is running would you like to do this durring next startup (not restart but shutdown, wait a moment and then start up).

I say this because if there are bad sectors on the drive when you do a fresh install it may not know about those sectors and try to use them when updating causing corrupted data.

Just a thought
