Boot Device LED on Asus M5A99X EVO

Building a new computer using an Asus M5 A99X EVO mobo, 2- 250 Gbt Sata HDD from my old system. System preforms POST, attempts to load XP from HHD, stop/freezes at C:/Windows/System32/ Drivers/Mup.sys. Even tried a new Sata HHD and OS (Windows 7), now the system freezes just as the Windows logo appears on the screen. Need mega help!!!!

If you are trying to boot to Windows from a previous installation, that is your problem. The Windows installation on the old HDD is looking for the components, devices, drivers, etc that were on the original system. Naturally, it will crash. Any time you replace major components like a motherboard, you have to re-install the operating system anew. Hopefully, it isn't an OEM version of Windows.
