I know of some people who partion harddrives, etc, on new PC's with ME bootdiscs when they are installing Win98/SE.

What is the difference between 98 and ME bootdiscs?

There must be operational differences as you can still get 98 bootdiscs from Microsoft and Bootdisc.com who recommend using them.

As there is a difference, there must be some affect to the operation of 98.
Anyone know how 98 could be affected?

I am not real sure but I think the ME boot disk has better support for larger drives. I know the ME boot disks can tell if there is an NTFS partition and delete it if you want. Not sure if the 98 does or not.
Shouldnt be any problem using an ME boot disk on a 98 system.
