boot disk error

i have an acer aspire am3470g-uw10p windows 7 and its giving me the error no boot disk has been detected or the disk has failed error. how do i fix this i tried to use a new hard drive but it gives me the same error. is there some cord that is not plugged in right or is the computer bad? and i dont have the windows install disk because my computer didnt come with one.

Did you check the bios whether the hard drive is being detected. Also the boot device order.
