[SOLVED] Boot drive not found on laptop only when 1 ssd installeden 1 ssd

Acer nitro 5 laptop
Has 2 m.2 slots andI have 1 windows on each of my 2 nvme drives, 1 original oem and 1 my own, both install ed windows 10

I tried booting my ssd alone (faster) from both slot and wasnt found in bios, not untill i put back oem drive , slots changed

This is so weird to me , does it mean it cant boot alone without oem ssd? Can i even format it?

Sounds like the boot files for your SSD installation ended up on the OEM drive instead of on your SSD and therefore your SSD won't boot by itself.

Any particular reason you need 2 Windows installations on the same laptop?

If you had both drives plugged in when installing on non oem drive then windows put your boot files on oem drive

When bootable, i have the option to choose which windows to boot from and both works
Now i am trying to install fresh windows on my ssd and boot alone...

Any particular reason you need 2 Windows installations on the same laptop?

During transition, its better to keep old one for backup, i will format oem later when everything go smooth

OK. You'll need to confirm that the new drive will boot and is fully activated when the other OEM drive is either disabled or disconnected.
