Boot from Windows Boot Manager?

Hi,

So recentley I accidentally booted into my UEFI BIOS (headphones on keyboard during POST) and thought id take the oppurtunity to double check things.

I found a new option in my boot list, windows boot manager. For some reason it was set as the highest boot priority option. I tried to boot from my ssd (where windows 10 is installed), but nothing happened; it just went straight back to the UEFI.

Booting from the boot manager worked just fine. Keeping that as priority allowed windows to boot just fine.

Is this normal? Should I boot from the boot manager? I also have a HDD for mass storage and a CD-drive.

Thanks

EDIT: I have an asus z97-A board. All other hardware operating fine. Only other thing i changed in the bios was fan speeds

Yes it's very normal. The data necessary for a fast boot is found within that image. Read more here.

Irrespective of your installation media you will always find Windows Boot Manager a the top of your boot priority list. Unless you have any issues such as BSOD's or bad audio or overclocking settings, then you shouldn't mess any further with BIOS settings and the boot order. You're fine as is ;)

Might I also ask what the rest of your system's specs are? Also is this an installation via the upgrade path or anew?
