Hi there. I've just installed W2K on my D: with a C: W98SE dual boot.
Now I want to alter the boot.ini to:
a: Default to W98SE
b: Boot in 5 secs instead of 30.
Now I'm pretty sure the boot.ini file is the file to do this and to change the time for options, I change the value of the timeout setting.
Here is my boot.ini
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional"/fastdetect
C:\="Microsoft Windows
---------------------------------------------------
Should my new boot.ini look like this?
[boot loader]
timeout=5
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\Windows
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\="Microsoft Windows"
D:\WINNT="Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional"/fastdetect
