Solution webworkings Jan 7, 2017 Well did you do the following... 1. Turn the laptop off (not sleep or hibernate but off). 2. Connect the external monitor. 3. Turn on the external monitor. 4. Turn on the laptop. It should then detect the secondary monitor (as long as we are talking a monitor and not say a TV or other device).
