Hello friends,
I have an opinion rather than a question to my dilemma.
I've bought all the hardware shown on the following link to build myself a hackintosh: http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/search/label/CustoMac I have the build #4.
Today I received everything, I was impatient to start building this thing. Then I realized the Gigabyte z68x-ud3-b3 motherboard has problems with boot loops, but online it seems as if their computers worked for a week or two before having this problem occasionally. I got it right out of the box!
Seems I can't update my BIOS neither since there's post at all. I've done the whole "bare essentials" montage, still not working. Boots, fans spin, lights glow, but then halts. 3 seconds later, does it all again, then halts.
Taking off the RAM makes the fans spin about 15 seconds longer which is amazing compared to the 2 second it usually has. It's not the RAM though, as I've tried mine on another computer and it worked. I've also used that other computer's PSU to test and did the same thing.
I bought everything already for this hackintosh, and I read that using compatible RAM will stop this problem. Should I return the RAM? Or should I return the motherboard? I already have an LGA 1555 CPU and bought the Snow Leopard DVD.
Has the world found a way to fix the boot loop?
