First, sorry for my poor English,

My wife has an OEM Computer with G31MX-K Motherboard and Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and Realtek RTL8111B/RTL811C Gigabit Boot Agent. I added an SSD to the HD but I can't reorder the boot, I set the BIOS to SSD but the boot asgent stasrts always with the HD, except if I set the SSD but after shut-up it looses the information and starts with the HD. How can I force or modify the boot agent or deinstall that the BIOS should have the priority. I am thanking you for every advice.

Best regards

Check the manual "chapter2 bios description) http://www.foxconnchannel.com/ProductDetail.aspx?T=motherboard&U=en-us0000345
You need 1) reconnect the SSD into the 1st SATA port. 2) In Advanced BIOS Features>Hard Disk Boot Priority section, you need move the SSD into the 1st one to boot. Then you can set the first boot device in CDROM (1st), Hard disk (2nd) or Hard disk(1st), and whatever other device (2nd), then saving and exit to boot the PC.

Thank you cin19 for your suggestions. I downloaded and printed the BIOS part of the manual and tried to follow your suggestions. The SSD is connected to the port nearest to the edge, next is the HD and the third the CDROM. If I enter the BIOS in Advaced BIOS features and
set in BOOT priority
1. CH S: Samsung HD
2. CH M: Samsung SSD
3. Bootable Add In

I leave it by escape, set first boot device CDROM 2nd and thrd harddisk and check again the boot priority, it is by removable again. The only way to start with SSD is with esc to enter boot menu. I am trieing it since 3 days to set permanently SSD for booting. As I am retired from the time I can afford it, but I can't expect from my wife.

I hope to get some advice how to solve the problem
Thanks again and best regards

Hallo cin19, thanks again. In the Harddisk Boot Priority I choose a Disk for booting but I overlooked that I have to move it with + or - up or down and esc, so atleast at the moment it seems to work.

Thank you and all the best
