Boot PC without CPU

Hello,
Today while I was cleaning my PC from dust (well, actually a lot of dust!!), I wondered what would happen if I attempted to boot my computer without the CPU installed on the motherboard. Forgive me if this has been already answered.

It won't POST , giving the beep code coresponding with CPU failure.

POST = power on self test.
When you push the power button , computer verifies itself , if the PC is posting than the verification is completed succesfully and it will give one short beep,continuing with the boot procedure. Otherwise it will give you a beep code , that points to the problem encountered.

So I suppose the same thing would happen if I attempted to boot without RAM, right?

Yes the same thing will happen, but the beep code will be different.
