Hello all,

My build:
XFX Black Edition 750Watt PSU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207003)
2 x Radeon 5870's (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150490) in CrossFire
ASUS M4A89GTD PRO AM3 AMD 890GX Motherboard (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131633)
AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition CPU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103808)
First RAM I Tried : G.Skill RipJaw 4GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231303)
Second RAM I Tried: Kingston HyperX 8GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104173)
Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

I've been having consistent problems with my custom computer build that I built a year ago. These problems started the day I built it, and I have never been able to figure out whats wrong. Basically, the system takes 15-20 boot attempts before it even POST's, and then maybe 5 more boot attempts after that before it finally loads Windows 7. At first I thought this was a RAM issue, since I have an AMD mobo/cpu and my ram was compatible with i5/i7 cpu's. I read a ton of comments on Newegg explaining the timings and voltage needed to get the ram to run with an AMD system, and I tried them all. If I go into BIOS and change the voltage/ram timings, then save and restart, the computer will boot. But if I try to start the computer later on, it will take 15-20 tries again.

I finally got fed up and bought new RAM, but the same issues persist.

The video feed from my monitors also cuts in and out, almost like there isn't enough power (My system has 750Watts). I had 2 Radeon 5870's in the system in CrossFire, so I took one of them out to see if it would boot with just one card. The system now boots, but whenever I try to sign in to my Windows account, it takes me to a temporary profile instead of my actual account.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the source of my problem could be? The only thing I can think of is a faulty motherboard. I'm very exhausted and frustrated with this system, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does sound like a motherboard issue. Try updating your BIOS and if you can installing a fresh version of windows on top of that. If that doesn't work, then make sure you have your voltages right for RAM and CPU. Plus the timings on the RAM...
