Unable to boot with SSD as primary in boot order.

Gigabyte H61-S2P
HDD- Hitachi
SSD- Kingston (new)

Got OS installed on new SSD [ had to remove HDD to make use of available power cable)
now both connected [removed CD Drive's power to connect SSD]

Problem-
running the SSD solo, without HDD connected, works perfectly! [beautiful clean OS, boots up in fractions - all that was promised]
just not when paired with HDD and forced to boot-up first, it crashes while booting - repeatedly.
[BIOS Screens for my options below. Tried all combinations already]

using Boot Options to Prioritize SSD over HDD fails.
using 'BBS priorities' to do the same fails too.

Prioritizing HDD over SSD get old PC up and running and amazingly SSD is recognized as well as additional drives.

- [had to some trouble with insert images]

note - I've never updated my BIOS, just worried it might screw my existing set up.
