[SOLVED] Boot SSD not recognized after installing second SSD

Hello,
I have a Samsung 870 EVO 500GB drive with a SATA cable as my boot drive. I just bought and installed a Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVME M.2 drive. Upon starting up the computer, it's no longer recognizing the SATA SSD so I cannot boot. Removing the new M.2 SSD fixes the problem. How can I get my computer to use both drives at the same time? (And yes, I know I should use the M.2 as the boot drive. One step at a time...)
Thanks in advance for any help!

Try different sata ports on the mobo.
