Boot time slowed down since AVG update?

AVG asked me to update, so I did. It has now slowed down my boot time by about 10 seconds.

It also added "AVG Framework" to startup, although I removed this and nothing has changed.

If I am to switch Anti Virus (heard that AVG is selling user's data!) which free ones do you recommend?

Also, it is now called AVG Protection? Is this legit AVG?

Get rid of AVG. They even had a past "update" that killed some people's computers a few years ago if I remember correctly. I don't trust them especially after they announced they intend to sell your data. I've used Avira for years and it almost always comes out on top in independent testing. Avast is also good.
