For those of you seeking a way to have your NVME M.2 portable.
Couldn't find instructions anywhere (been looking for years) so I thought I'd provide them.
These instructions are for those of you that do not need Step By Step instructions (I'll provide those at a later date (unless someone else would like to - please feel free to do so (not forgetting to mention ME please!))).
I used this enclosure:https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07SLHRHQG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
In BIOS set everything to Legacy Boot.
Install Windows OS (MBR)(VERY IMPORTANT)!!!!!!!!!!
Remove installation media.
Reboot to desktop.
Reboot once more.
Shut Down.
Remove M.2.
Install M.2 in enclosure.
ATTACH TO USB 2.0 PORT(VERY IMPORTANT)!!!!!!!!!!
Boot (it will fail a few times until it reaches repair screen).
Choose Troubleshoot.
Choose Reset. This is what makes it bootable!
Once reset completes you have a Bootable (portable) NVME M.2.
You can now attach to USB 3.0 or 3.1 ports.

You didn't specify OS.
