Bootable pendrive not detected by BIOS

Hi All,

I want to install windows 8.1 on my laptop HP Pavilion dv4 but my BIOS is not detecting the bootable pen drive which I made by Rufus software. I also have set boot option from BIOS to USB hard drive but after some time it boot from the hard drive instead of pendrive. I checked my USB port also, its detecting the pendrive and showing its content but not booting windows from it.

Please Help!

how did you make this flash drive bootable?

it sounds like you are just using a raw iso you can use a program called rufus to make a bootable flashdrive
