I am trying to run a dual boot system. I don't know if the copy of Ubuntu is corrupt or what but when I load it I get a screen full of what I think is short hand binary and a prompt that doesn't allow me to do anything. before that when it did load it was blurry and had patches of different squares of color. I am very much a novice here so any help would be much appreciated. I am running Windows 7 as my main OS

I don't think you would have a problem with a 64bit OS on a USB drive formatted in FAT32... If it were a conflictive combination you would get a warning or have problems creating the Bootable USB drive. My guess is the copy of Ubuntu is corrupted or maybe the USB drive has a problem. Try downloading a new copy of Ubuntu from a different source... and use the software suggested below.

Many linux and windows based Bootable USB applications here... I's suggest "LinuxLive USB Creator Portable 2.8.28"

I haven't tried a to burn the iso to a DVD because I am studying for my A+ cert and kind of wanted to go the "hard" way, not that I have experience doing it that way. I am quite green. I tried different versions of free Linux based software also to no avail. If the OS is a 64-bit and the USB is formatted with FAT32 would that cause it to look as i described by chance?
