What i've tried

  • I went on Microsofts website and used their tool "windows media creation tool" and it installed a bootable version of windows install on my usb 3.0 drive. I tried using it to boot to windows install and had no luck.

I changed the boot order and boot priority to that usb and it would just not boot. it would bypass it and go straight into windows.

I used rufus to install two different ISO versions of windows 10 and tried to boot from that and it didn't boot.

I then tried using windows-usb-dvd-download-tool to install a windows 10 iso and even a windows 7 iso and it wouldn't boot from it.

I cleared cmos and set the settings to boot from usb and it still wouldn't boot.

I tried using a different usb 3.0 drive and nothing. I dont have a dvd burner or blank dvd's or a usb 2.0 flash drive to try. It seems everywhere i go everyone says a usb 3.0 drive should work and i agree although they aren't working.

I tried every single usb 2.0 port on my computer and still nothing.

I remember I was able to install windows 7 using a USB 2.0 awhile ago with no problems. In between that time i successfully flashed my bios to the latest version. Could that latest version be causing the issues? (I used this 680LTP08A.iso version from here: http://xfxstorage.com/Support/BIOS/Motherboard/680LT/XFX/ using a burned dvd when i had a dvd drive.

I am literally lost. Everything that SHOULD be working isn't. I was able to see my USB drive in the boot priority drives but can't boot from it. Does anyone know whats going on and how i can fix this? Is it possible to flash my bios to an older version if thats whats causing the issue? thanks in advance

Yes it sees it. When i select boot priority it lists the usb drive along with my other two hard drives and even when i select it as first boot priority it still boots to windows. Also changing boot order to usb does nothing either.

I configured rufus to use BIOS. like this: http://imgur.com/OmyTzTa

So i tried using Moba Live CD to test my bootable usb drive. When i followed the steps i got this window: http://imgur.com/f3XB1fl and it wont go past that blue windows 10 icon. So I figured i would try an ISO of windows 7. Booted up the usb using Moba Live CD again and i get this image AGAIN http://imgur.com/f3XB1fl i formatted the USB drive before installing windows 7 on it. Yet its still showing the windows 10 icon? how is that possible. I opened up the usb thumb drive folder and opened the setup file and it pops up with windows 7 file. What the hell is going on?
