Hello all,
Get ready for a dumb dumb post
Okay so basically, i built this pc maybe 2 years ago and everything worked fine but I messed up the front m.2 NVME drive installation. finally graduated school, work is light, etc. have the time to take the heat sink off and rescrew the drive in. Because i am lazy and wanted to check the bios recognized the drive i booted without the cpu cooler on. Pretty sure the PC shut off very quickly after i did that. i put the heat sink on, booted, had some issues with getting it to post, got it to post and everything was going great!
Basically it boots 1/10th of the time, played games on it for an hour with no issues at all, it will get stuck on the bios booting load screen, it will run slow, randomly restart, it wont recognize usb devices. worked perfectly prior to me booting without a cpu cooler, installing a new drive, and reapplying the cpu cooler.
Did I fry my cpu? Could thermal paste not be sitting on it right? how can i figure out the component that has an issue.
This PC is really important to me bc it is how I stay connected with friends and work. Any help is greatly appreciate!!!<3
PC specs
-windows 10 64bit
Update: PC booted, used prime95 to do a cpu torture test and it passed. still unsure on what could be causing so many issues inconsistently
Update2: After the previous update i went ahead and played apex. gamed for a couple hours and it was great, normal performance. closed the game, noticed a fan was off the whole time. and then the pc crashed, it restarted itself and went into a resolution that was not correct (super low quality, wouldnt recongize anything higher than like 1000x800)
