I successfuly installed a SSD on my Dell XPS 8500 and copied my Windows 8.1 to it. What should I do now to boot from it? I found many recipes but none on how to inform the BIOS that the SSD is primary. Does anyone has a step-by-step procedure?

So, now you have both a ssd and a harddrive in the laptop?

If you did the copy right, you can press f12 under boot, and pick the SSD, this you will have to do everytime, but you can see this way if the copy was done right, if you pick the ssd and it works, you did the copy right..

To set the ssd at the primary boot drive you have to go into bios, do this by pressing F2 under startup, and here you have to look for boot priority, and then change the sdd to be the primary boot drive
