Hello, I have a bug on my computer for about 3 months now.
The bug is the following : My computer usually boots just fine, I can do whatever I want with it or hours. BUT, somestimes, when I boot it, the fan spins but I never make it to the POST (no red led). The only fix I found is to unplug the computer from the power source for 3 hours (not less) and it will again boot just fine.
How did it start :
I was playing evolve beta, the GPU just fried, there was no lag, no frame stutter/artefact, it was perfectly fine, then suddenly the computer reboots, a burnt smell, the GPU was gone.
Other bugs to report : The clock is acting weird, if I set the clock at a certain time, I know that one hour later, the clock will be bogus. Therefore the date never changes, the time keeps looping. This bug is secondary, but it may help you find the source of my problem.
What has been done so far to fix the issue (which I don't know the source) :
- I changed the CMOS battery, the clock is still weird
- I changed the GPU
- I changed the motherboard, few pins from the cpu socket were bent, but it still booted perfectly before the bug came back again
- I tried booting with only the CPU and GPU from the motherboard and one ram stick
I'm short of ideas now, so if someone have any, I'm willing to try.
