Booting off an SSD while keeping my HDD for storage

Long story short, I already have my HDD and SSD both installed.
While my SSD is recognized, its not booting off it which kind of makes it pointless. Im trying to see if there is a quick way to just move the OS and boot off the SSD while keeping the HDD for storage. Would that be possible, or do I still need to clone my entire drive? And if so, what would be the easiest way to do it?

Solution
Most ssd vendors will have an app to clone or move a windows hdd to their ssd.
The Samsung ssd migration app is excellent.
When done, your old HDD is available for reuse.
You can delete the old windows folders and your data files will still be there.

If you need to do a new clean install of windows on the ssd, be sure to leave the old HDD disconnected during the process.
With a clean new install, you will need to reinstall apps that use the registry.
