I have a Seagate 1.5 TB Expansion external hard drive. Whenever I switch on my [strike]CPU[/strike] PC with the hard drive connected, my OS(Windows 10) is not able to start. The screen just shows a blinking key. There is no problem when the external hard drive is not connected while booting up. Please suggest me how to solve this problem.

It is not really a problem - - easily remedied.

Don't plug the external hard drive in until after PC has booted in to Windows.

My previous system would hang at the motherboard splash screen if external hard drive was already plugged in. I just had to get used to making sure external hard drive wasn't plugged in to USB port before switching on my PC. No biggie.

Well, I have already been using this technique for days. Just wanted to know if there is a some other way to fix it. This problem started after I upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10. Earlier, it would boot up even if it was plugged in.
