Booting to BIOS setup

My Asus Z97-A now boots all the time to a BIOS setup screen "Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting". I enter the BIOS, everything looks normal, C-drive (SSD) is listed OK, time and date are correct, then I save and exit (with no changes), and it boots normally. I tried flashing the latest BIOS and that didn't make any difference. SMART data on the SSD doesn't indicate any problems.
Any ideas as to why it's doing this, please?

This actually happens when the bios settings gets reset everytime after you shut down and power off your machine... although this wont happen when restarting... Do one thing, change the CMOS battery and see how it goes...

Yep, that did the trick! Many thanks for the suggestion. I did wonder about the CMOS battery, but as the time and date were being maintained, I thought the battery was probably OK. Seems not. Now all is good, so once again thankyou for your help.
