BootMgr is missing CTRL ALT DEL to restart issue

I got this computer with win 7 ultimate on it, but when I go to boot it up I get this message Boot Mgr is missing. The OS is installed on a crucial m4 128 gb SSD. Normally I would just put in the win or recovery disk, but none came with the system.

What I want to know is there a way to fix this issue without a windows disk. Like can i make a bootable usb that has the repair files on it? I do have a Win 7 disk, but its win 7 pro 32 bit and I think it would just cause me problems if I tried using that.

if it is a legit copy of 7 ultimate you should have a key on the bottom or side of your computer. Go grab a copy off the internet and install using your legit key... I don't have issue with this use of torrent sights but some might...

Do you have the correct boot device selected in your BIOS? Check that first.

Second, regarding Thently's suggestion, BE VERY CAREFUL! Doing this could make things even worse in that you really don't know where the version you are downloading came from or what is in it. This is pirated software in the academic sense. Tom's does not support software piracy.

Last, why didn't your system come with the install media?

Its legit but no key anywhere I looked.

I don't know why they didn't include it, but it was the system builder marathon machine from December.

Just FYI, but sometimes a BIOS update will change the boot sequence you have saved and cause this problem to occur.

I am fairly certain it does not matter if the Win 7 DVD is the same version (Ultimate/Pro/Home) as installed on the hard disk when doing a repair to the boot manager

You did not say if Windows 7 on the Hard Disk is 64 bit or 32 bit as replacing corrupt Windows files will require the correct version (32/64).

Unfortunately its a 64 bit version of windows on the computer. I already attempted to use my 32 bit recovery disk to no avail it won't even read it.

are there multiple drives in that system. The boot loader doesn't necessarily have to be on the SSD it could be on another drive and usually the drive connected to the SATA_1 port or the first IDE drive (IDE_1 Master).

Basically Windows will install the Boot Loader to the FIRST drive that is writeable according to the list it gets from the BIOS/EFI and this list is usually sorted IDE first then SATA going down the ports. Because of this I usually install my drives backwards port wise so my newest drive is always the first in the chain..

That's correct, all of the x64 disks of Win7 are the same. Same as the x86 disks... they are all interchangeable, IE, x86 Home Premium disk could be used to install Ultimate, and the same is true for the x64 side.

Again, you are also correct in observing that the correct x86 or x64 disk will need to be supplied (ie since the system is x64, you will need any windows 7 x64 disk to use).

So, apparently the build did not include an installed OS. This makes things easier since now I know I just need to go buy one and I'm good. Thanks for all the help at least guys.
