Borderlands 2 Co-Op Outdated?

since yesterday i havent been able to join my friends co-op game and he cant join mine, it keeps giving the error that his game version is outdated. does any 1 know how to fix this?

(I have the borderlands 2 season pass and the mechromancer pack)

Maybe your game is outdated.
Im sure you understood this wrong so Ill explain it.
When you set new multiplayer (co-op) game this game has limited time. Im sure its worth to try remaking that co-op.

Just download latest patches, thats it.

Is this a retail box, direct-to-drive download, or Steam version of the game? Something like Steam will update the game automatically.

we both have the game on steam (he redeemed his from amazon) and we verified integrity of game cache or what ever and it still wouldnt work

sorry about the wasted post. apparently gearbox releases updates for macs (my friend has a mac) later than they do for pc
