[SOLVED] Borderlands 3 FPS

Hi,

I'm having issues with Borderlands 3 FPS where the range is crazy and I don't know what is causing it. Most of the time I'm playing at 70-120 FPS without issue but recently it drops to an unplayable rate (screenshot below) and the GPU MS becomes significantly higher which I don't know what that means. I have a GTX 2070 so should be able to play at higher levels, but not sure the issue. Anything I can do? thanks!

Not much to tell you without knowing the rest of your specs, but the game launched in a half-assed state out of the gate.

Thanks! My specs are:
-Intel Core i5-4960k
-EVGA 2070 RTX XC ULTRA gaming
-16 GB RAM
-Crucial MX 500 SSD
-Gigabyte G1 Gaming Z97MX

trying to figure out why is varies so much. I guess it could be the game but 75% of the time I’ve played at close to 120 FPS, so seeing it drop so low is disconcerting.

Running on a quad core doesn't help things, and if you just have 1 stick of ram, that'll make things even worse.

I have 2 8GB sticks but just bought the i7-9700k and 32GB to upgrade the system...hope that can make the difference

Lol yeah, got a new MSI Z390 so hoping to see that being enough...but who knows anymore

I was simply checking, because Intel has confused people with 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th gen all being LGA 1151, when 8th and 9th gen are actually LGA 1151 V2... but they haven't bothered to update that info on any of their products.
You can probably imagine how many people with 6600Ks or 7500s, etc., upgrading only their cpus to 8700k or 9700k, only for it to not boot at all.
