Please help me with this Borderlands error when launching

some possible solutions are

* running the game as administrator
* updating your graphic driver directly from ATI/NVIDIA

some more wild solutions that worked for some people (try the above first)
* updating Microsoft Visual C++
* setting Borderlands.exe's affinity in the task manager, to only use 1 or 2 cores
* uninstall the Nvidia Physx driver


Seems like this is a problem a lot of Borderland players encounter for various reasons.
