Since few days ago my keyboard's Ctrl keys (both right and left) are not working, tried googling but couldn't find the solution. Im on the latest windows 10 version(not on windows insider). I have added a RAM stick few days ago, but im not sure if ctrl stopped working after that or it wasn't working even before that. im pretty sure adding RAM wont cause a problem. what i have done till now -

1)unplugged the keyboard for few seconds then replugged
2)uninstalled and reinstalled driver
3)restored defaults from my motherboard's BIOS.

No luck, till now.

Solution
Does the keyboard work on another known working computer?

Does another known working keyboard work on your computer?

Determine if the CTRL key problem follows the keyboard or stays with your computer.

Failing the above....

You can try cleaning the keyboard.

Spread out a towel and turn the keyboard upside down over the towel. Firmly but gently tap the ends, sides, and bottom of the keyboard with the heel of your hand.

Likely all sorts of gunk will fall out.

Another option is to pop off the CTRL key caps to do more and deeper cleaning. That is additional risk but there may be nothing to lose by trying.

However, with both CTRL keys not working my thought is that the keyboard may have failed in some manner.
