Ok so I've just had a very strange series of events and I have no idea what to do.

Firstly my internet dropped. I checked my phone which also showed the WiFi was down so I just reset the router. At the same time I restarted the pc.

When it booted back up it still didn't connect to the internet, whereas my phone was showing the internet was now working fine. I also noticed that the WiFi option on the bottom right of windows had dissappeared, just showing the ethernet connection as 'unidentified network, with no internet.

To clarify. I have a tp Link booster that I run an ethernet cable out of into my desktop. So normally while it's connected via ethernet, I can also see the wireless networks also.

I've tried uninstalling various WiFi/ethernet drivers and reinstalling them, however I'm unable to update any drivers as I have no way to access the internet.

I also tried a network reset which didn't appear to do anything positive other than the first time I booted up after it restarted my mouse and keyboard wouldn't work.

I restarted again and this time the mouse worked, however the boot time has randomly got a lot longer.

I'm wondering if there are any easy things I've missed? Or if I should just reset the pc ?

Note - after uninstalling the WiFi driver and then reinstalling it the WiFi tab did show, however it failed to locate a single network.

Appreciate any help. Thanks

Edit . When running the windows network diagnostics on the WiFi it states, there might be a problem with the driver for the WiFi adaptor.

When running the same thing for the ethernet it states 'the default gateway is not available

Edit 2. So I've now reset windows. The WiFi is again not working, while the ethernet cable is detected but just says no internet.

No idea what to try.

Motherboard mpg x570 gaming edge wifi

So currently my wifi is not working, as in it doesn't show as my pc has a WiFi feature when you go to the bottom right. Although on network connections it shows that WiFi is enabled. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the drivers to no success. I have tried r setting windows, again to no success.

Further to this the ethernet cable also isn't working. It identifies a cable is plugged in but states no internet.

To clarify the internet is working on other devices. I'm unsure if this is now a software issue or if possibly the WiFi adapter has broke on the mobo. Any thoughts?

Is your psu old/unreliable? Maybe its unable to power up all the usb/ethernet the ports properly? Do you have a spare ethernet cable to see if it is faulty?

The Psu is 6 months old, has more power than needed so I'm guessing it's not that.

Tried a separate ethernet cable also. What's confusing me is that both the ethernet and WiFi aren't working. When I presume they are separate

Shall do. Need to go to my mates house to download drivers so I can see if that works. So will download SFC.
This is not a download, it’s a command to scan the system for problems.

Simply search for Command Prompt in the search box. Right-click the program and click “Run as administrator.” Then enter the following command (followed by the “Enter” key).

Code:
sfc /scannow

It could take some time to complete the scan, don’t close the command prompt window until it finishes.

If all else fails, you can always do a fresh install of Windows. Make sure to backup any important files.

Can you go ahead an list your complete system specs? With the issue being related to your MOBO, wireless card, and now boot times even after reinstalling OS there may be something larger.

Also please explain your complete network hardware setup like router, modem, etc.

Note: regarding "so I just reset the router."

If you did a factory reset then the router is back to all of its' built in default settings.

Yes: what make and model modem, router, or modem/router (if combined) are you using?

tp Link booster - model?

You will probably need to reconfigure router and/or network devices to get everything working again.
