Bottleneck and PSU size for SLI 980

Hi,

I currently own this system:

- Motherboard: MSI Z68A-GD65 (G3)
- CPU: Core i5 2500K overclocked to 4.4GHz (v core at 1.4V)
- RAM: 16GB DDR3 (4 sticks)
- Graphic card: Zotac GTX 770 2GB AMP!
- PSU: Cougar 800W

If I replace the GTX 770 with 2 x GTX 980:

1. Would my CPU, MoBo and RAM create a bottleneck?
2. Is 800W enough power?

Hello,

With this clock speed you should not have any serious bottle-necking occur, but expect it to occur on badly optimized games such as Battlefield 4 for example.

800W will theoretically be enough since each card draws around 165W.

You need to see if you really do need two of these cards to begin with, i would recommend buying one and bench-marking it/gaming on it for a week before deciding to get a second one

I forgot to mention that I intend to play in 4K. I have a Samsung U28D590D monitor and at the moment I can "just" play in 1440p with my GTX 770.

The other question is whether the cards will fit in my case. I'm gonna have to take out the measuring tape!
