1080P there might be some instances where the CPU may hold back the GPU a bit but if your gaming at 1440P then it's a solid pairing.

It's a good pairing for that resolution/refresh rate. I would adjust settings as needed so like if your playing Apex Legends for example I'd probably lower the settings to keep the FPS high or if you playing a single player slower paced game the keep the settings high and FPS around 100 as the difference is minimal (witcher 3 for example).
