Bottleneck ?

:hello: i am planning to buy an Amd Radeon 7750 sooner.my question is will my c2D e4500 @ 2.2 ghz will be a bottleneck for my card,If yes by how much be exact at FPS or % in non CPU intensive game and CPU intensive game also.I will be playing at 1336 x 768 and will OVerclock if necessary,i have a corsair VX 45o watt psu.Thx in advance :)

Hi

The E4500 is really going to struggle with modern games, so I would say it will bottleneck a HD7750. I couldn't tell you by how much, but fact is some modern 2 core processors (even with hyperthreading) struggle with the more demanding games.

yes, it will bottleneck it by a huge amount. No need to overclocking the cpu. You two options
1:upgrade your cpu
2:downgrade the GPU.

That CPU is junk, and will be a problem in any modern game. You can make things a bit better by overclocking, but it's not going to solve the problem. You need a new CPU, which in your case also means a new motherboard and RAM.

Systems have a shelf life, and yours has expired.

Currently i have an 9600 gt.BTW i will be going for a major upgrade next year when intel haswell processors and retina display on desktop comes out.

so i was thinking can't i handle it at least 1 year or gt 640 will be a better option when it comes out.usually will be playing at 1280 x 1024.

If you are going to have a major upgrade next year, then you must plan for the GPU that goes in there unless you plan to hand down the PC & the new graphics card along with it.

Do you also have plan to upgrade your monitor to 1920x1080 as well? And when is next year? Is it beginning of 2012 ( Jan ) or 12 months from now as in May 2013? The GPU and CPU landscape will have significant difference between these 2 periods.

i am also planning to buy an new whole computer including everything ranging from gpu to keyboard next year in may-june 2013. yes i will be upgrading to 1920 x 1080 monitor or retina display possible.i just need a time pass gpu for 1280 x 1024 just for this year bcuz many AAA games are coming out

I see. If you are upgrading the whole PC anyway then I guess its worth it to buy the stop gap video card & hand it down along with your old PC or use it as a 2nd one for less intensive applications.

The 7750 wont bottleneck your E4500.

are you sure it wont bottleneck above comments are saying it will bottleneck but i have heard somewhere that overclocking it upto 2.6 Ghz will do job or it's fine at it's stock clock.plz i am confused

Check the links that I posted & you can decide for your self. In the games that it is benchmarked, the E4500 can play around 52-73pfs except farcry for which it performs 28fps. But pay attention to Crysis Warhead for which the E4500 can play up to 52fps.
Now, look at the 2nd link which shows the 7750 playing crysis warhead at 31.8. The setting is a bit different but it still shows that the E4500 can pull higher fps than the 7750 in some games therefore it is not going to be bottlenecked by the E4500 even at stock.
