Hey guys
im gonna purchase a zotac nvidia gtx 650ti boost.
i have a intel core 2 duo e7400 2.8ghz cpu.. will this bottleneck my gpu. If it does then by how much?

Solution
your e7400 would perform about 10-20% worse than the stock E8400 (its higher clocked and has more cache)

If youre buying new this 7790 and 7850 are better choices due to either being cheaper for same performance or just plain cheaper

this is a factory OC 7850

7850(OC)/650ti boost > 7790 > 650ti > 7770 > 7750/650

hard to say. i really don't think the CPU would bottleneck you because the GPU isn't all that powerful.

i tried looking for a benchmark that compared your cpu to a modern one and just can't find anything useful.

Solution
It will bottle neck it to some degree but what gpu do you have installed now ? the e 7400 is a older intel dual core while it was fast in its day its showing age so its like saying I have a 32 ford with a flat head v 8 im going to put a new tranny in from a 2012 mustang and see what happens im sure any card you have now will be slower then the newer card but it all depends on the CPU
