i bought mine from newegg not too long ago.

$30 for new stock was better than i'd hoped for really and even crucial brand
i replaced the 4 x 1gb the system had which is not what you're looking for so can't help you with used ones.

but the crucial ones dropped right into my old Dell XPS 420 system no issues at all.

I have questions posted in GPU section and Systems section about this upgrade and one other upgrade to modernize and speed up...I am hoping the memory that i purchase will dual channel(like what i have) and add more zip.. Hoping i dont cause bottlenecks that work against me.

You should be fine. I have several older systems that have enough slots for 4x 2gb ddr2 and they still run dual channel. And the main thing you have to keep in mind is that the addtional memory, even if single channel is faster than having to swap to disk, so it should be a good upgrade for sure.
